ARTIST BIO

ALISON APLIN ART

Alison is a multi-award winning landscape designer, so design is in her blood. She has come to the art world as a mature artist, but instead of painting gardens, Alison uses her design skills to paint dynamic abstract art. Her work is bold and colourful, whereas her garden designs, receiving awards for sustainable landscapes, are more subdued. But all design is based on certain principles - composition, balance and patterning being critical to any completed work. Alison likes to use the inspiration of wabi sabi in her works showing her love of imperfection.

Alison's style is forever changing; usually expressionist abstract, sometimes figurative abstract, but always full of colour and verve.

Using a variety of mediums including oils, her work is now receiving international attention with both actual and virtual exhibitions being sought by invitation. There is a far better understanding of abstract art internationally, especially Europe, and it is here that Alison is really advancing. Alison is happy to take local (Australian) commissions with a 50% deposit upfront.

Alison was invited to become a member of the IAVA (International Ass of Visual Artists) early in 2021. She is involved in internatioanl collaborations and a Spanish cultural book. Her art is sought because it has the definite 'point of difference' that any good design, art, sculpture or artisanal product has achieved.

Alison's artistic vision: "I'm a free spirit; my art needs to reflect this in its many imperfections, the essence of my work".
